About Us

My photo
We are both retired. Built a house near a beach in Mexico to spend the winter away from the cold and snow. Have another home in Washington on the Pend Oreille River where we spend the summer. We divide our time between the two homes.

Logs, dirt, tile

It's time for some finishing touches.  Leveling off the area for the motor home with balist, which here is apparently rough dirt form the fields?  This is then cover with gravel.  Now there is less dust!

The finished result.  We pulled the motor home across to the empty lot while the dirt was being moved around.

The backhoe getting around the corner of the house to deliver the dirt.  Then the workers smoothed it out.

The backhoe going across the front windows.

Careful around the corners.

Marking the wall to the level we need the dirt.  They are using a piece of tubing filled with water to get the same level around the house.

We are in a continual mess.  This is just one room.  The entire house looks like this.  It will be good to get the house cleaned up.

Once again working without any safety precautions.

The logs for the upper deck have arrived.  Bark is being taken off by hammering on the logs.

Using a chainsaw to take off the nubs.

Logs have been sanded and painted with bug repellent.

The tiles for the patio roof have arrived.

This is the third mushroom that has appeared in my flower planters.  Very colorful, but only last a day and shrivel and die.  Hopefully we won't get a bunch of these growing in the new dirt.
