About Us

My photo
We are both retired. Built a house near a beach in Mexico to spend the winter away from the cold and snow. Have another home in Washington on the Pend Oreille River where we spend the summer. We divide our time between the two homes.

The big push

The last few days before we left was a mad dash to get things finished.  One of which was to get the patio roof on.

The first beam going on.

The guys never use any kind of safety.  Here they are using a chainsaw to take off the extra length on the beams.

They are horsing around.

Hanging on the edge to place tiles.

The guys are all busy.  Last minute plastering on the outside.  Paint going on the front and, of coarse, the patio roof going on.
The kitchen has been cleaned up.

This fan is the same we will putting in the patio in the fall.

I was busy planting the day before we left.  Now I hope they all make it.  We have someone coming in to water and check on the house.
This succulent decided to bloom.  So did this tree, which wasn't suppose to.

A palm for the patio.

Ferns that got really bushy.  Hope they do well while we are gone.

More plants for the patio and the wonderful view.  The patio was so much cooler with the tile roof.

This is how we left the house.  Still things to be done, but we could lock it all up.

We left on a Sat.  and traffic was backed up going into         Puerto Vallarta.  It was a big holiday, Semana Santa the week before Easter.  We didn't have a lot of traffic going North, just ran into construction and slow trucks.
