About Us

My photo
We are both retired. Built a house near a beach in Mexico to spend the winter away from the cold and snow. Have another home in Washington on the Pend Oreille River where we spend the summer. We divide our time between the two homes.

Tile, drains, tinaco

This is the pattern for the living area.  It is hard to see the actual colors because of all the cement and brick dust.  The bedroom is similar.  I will have to post a better picture later.   It is nice not to be living with uneven concrete floors. Before they applied the tiles they had to level the living room.  It took several bags of tile cement to get it level.

Tom wanted some traditional tiles on the patio.  They are applied with cement and the grout is also a type of cement.

Here, again, there was lots of leveling to do.

They used this coke bottle with a nozzle to apply the cement grout.  They sure are inventive.

Railings are in on the patio.

I'm always amazed at how things come together.  Here Tom wanted a round stand to put the tinaco on.  With only the tools you see here Martin made this perfectly round stand using bits and pieces of brick with cement.

The finished stand with tinaco on top.

Drains were place around the front wall to help move water out into the street instead of pooling against the front wall.
