About Us

My photo
We are both retired. Built a house near a beach in Mexico to spend the winter away from the cold and snow. Have another home in Washington on the Pend Oreille River where we spend the summer. We divide our time between the two homes.

Finishing touches

Well we had another rainstorm, but it occurred during the night.    This plaster pan was left out and when I measured the depth it came to 5 inches!  That is why we had to do the portico and what Tom calls the eyebrows.

These are what Tom calls the eyebrows and they are shielding the vents.

 After being painted.

Notice how they plastered around the vent pipe for the water heater.  The pipe is in place so that the wind won't blow out the flame.
Brick paths under the portico and part of the driveway.

This is the rough outline of where we would like a patio in the future.  Not sure what we will use for the material.  Not paving bricks, something different.

  Lots of roof tiles!

This iguana was captured by our carpenter very close to the house.  When I told him I didn't want it around he bagged it up and planned on taking to his house.

Looking on the internet one site stated that the Crown of Thorns had insignificant Flowers.  You can't say that  about the one I planted.

The house as it looks today.  Pretty much complete.  We still need to do landscaping and get furnishing for the house.  But, at least there is no more cement or brick dust to coat everything.

We keep the gates closed as Dusty runs out and won't come when called.  We are working on that.

So this bell. which hangs my the gate, is our doorbell.
