About Us

My photo
We are both retired. Built a house near a beach in Mexico to spend the winter away from the cold and snow. Have another home in Washington on the Pend Oreille River where we spend the summer. We divide our time between the two homes.

Sewer Fittings and Wall Foundations

There was supposedly a sewer connection to the lot.  We couldn't find it, and so a new line was installed from septic tank down the road and then a connection to the property.

The wall between the properties was started.  The footings were done in a day.  Very hard work.  All the rock was moved by hand, as seen in this photo and the cement was mixed in an old fashioned mixer and hauled by wheelbarrow to the men in the trenches.

Adding water to get the right mix.

 Footings being cemented.
Sandals being worn.  No regulations for attire.

Pretty straight forms without  any levels, and these footings are for the wall.  Imagine what they will be for the house!

Rebar being formed to anchor the column.
The trenches for the house were dug.
